2013 – a year where time just flew so fast – almost as if through an vortex, beginning and ending in a few moments. But it was also very eventful. Apart from the usual work, heartbreaks, sickness, family time, ups and downs there were a lot of moments and lessons learned that I will remember for a very long time.
So here is a little recap of the major ups (and downs) of 2013
– Great exposure – My brand Sayuri and I were featured in newspapers and magazines almost 9 out the 12 months and the remaining months there were online features and this has given me greater confidence to believe in myself and be more invested in my brand.
– My Brand and the tagline have been trademarked and registered. We finally have our own domain and this blog and my Facebook page ,twitter page have grown a lot, undergone transformations which has used up a good part of my time.I am slowly learning to deal with the administrative work, expanding into new territories and its driving me nuts
– My Dhathu collection literally broke my hand and got me out of commission for nearly 2 painful weeks which taught me a great deal about compromises and priorities in life
– I took a lot of classes this year and hopefully inspired a few, I’ll miss those students who have moved up to next level or graduated. You have taught me to teach better.
-I have often wondered how my life would have turned out to be if I had had the opportunity to do my masters and probably moved abroad like most of my family and friends, and that has made me bitter sometimes. But if this year and the last one has taught me anything, it would be how one’s duties are important as one’s rights and not everyone gets to be with their parents in their old age and that I am fortunate to have their company even though they drive me mad at times 😉
But most importantly, I learnt about letting go which is one of the most difficult things to do. Letting go of things, of memories that do nothing more than take up space and get you worried. Letting go has been a good reminder of how far I have come and how much further I need to go. I have to still learn to let go of people though.
That is precisely my inspiration for this month color palette – Footsteps.
Footsteps are a mark of the distance that we have travelled in one year literally and metaphorically to get to where we are now and it holds promise of a great journey waiting to happen. My journey here was interesting to say the least and I hope that you have had a great time as well. With that I take leave of you this year, you have all been great readers, friends, inspires and mentors and I look forward to interacting with you this coming year 🙂
You can find the previous color palettes here
I hope you find it interesting
Cheers
