Continuing the rusted bling theme from the pic of the month, I am going to showcase a color palette that is a rustic reminder of Autumn. I have never seen Autumn in the last ten years but most parts of India dont really get to witness four seasons. Before that when I lived in Trichy, Autumn meant chores. Yup..you read it right – Chores. We had a big garden at home and these huge tress that would shed leaves and flowers throughout the year, autumn being the maximum and I would be up with a broom and rake almost 2-3 times a week in the evenings cleaning up our yard, while absentmindedly keeping an ear and eye on guys playing cricket on the ground opposite and making fun of them. Ha!! those where the days and I miss them 😀
But say autumn and I am immediately reminded of rich orange skies and silhouettes of birds perched on trees that have a few leaves still left on them and its one of my favourite scenes to look at. So the color palette for this month is going to have also those lovely shades and more.
I am not a big fan of rustic colors when it comes to interiors or clothing, but love it in accessories.A lot of people find a earthy – rustic palette really comforting. As it holds the familiar combo of orange and black, designers could use it to create coordinated halloween goodies
In this necklace I have not used black but played around with browns, oranges using acrylic pearls, copper wire and textured shiny cabochon.
NOTE: All palettes come with Pantone color pickers (solid coated, solid matt or process coated). You can use the convertor in the pantone website to arrive at the exact shades for your end use whether it is textiles, paint or paper. You are free to use the color palette in any and all product design work, but please refrain from putting it in your portfolios and give due credit.
I hope you find it interesting
Cheers
