If I would have to describe the month of November visually, it would be a picture of a forest – particularly one which shows intricate wood textures on trees. I love the intricate textures, wood rings plus the smell of tree barks. I dont know where this fascination for tree barks came from, but they do remind me of cool Novembers when you can go for long walks to take in the scenery without feeling hot and sweaty.
Perhaps it has something to do Robert Frost’s Stopping by the woods on a snowy evening that I read as a kid. When he says that “the woods are lovely, dark, and deep, But I have promises to keep, And miles to go before I sleep”, it kinda resonates with me. When its November, people who have been working hard all year long, often without a break in between (like me) feel a sense of relief, that the year is almost over and you can relax now. But the thought is momentary; for in the next second you are reminded of how yet another year has passed and it almost forces you to take stock of your resolutions and plans for the year, what all you did during the year, your successes – failures and what all you could do to close the gap in the remaining month’s time.
November color palette – Woods are lovely, dark and deep:
Anyway like Mr.Frost, I do love these deep dark woods I am currently in, but judging by all what I want to ‘try’ and accomplish this year, I have miles to go before I sleep. So stay tuned!!
