Marabu is a collection of handmade jewellery by Divya N of Sayuri that is inspired by the sights, sounds, colours, materials, and practices of the Tamil Culture. Marabu means customs, practices and legacy of (Tamil) culture. Digital prints and illustrations of the folk forms such as Karagattam, Therukuthu, Poikkal kudiri, games such as the Paramapadam come together with those of Mahakavi Bharathiyar and Thiruvalluvar in this picture jewellery Collection. The Vattelluthu script and its subsequent variations of Tamil scripts also find a place. Marabu jewellery is eclectic and is made up of resin pendants and beads of glass, metal, fabric, and agate crystals.

Congratulations on the new collection, born in difficult times! As always, the colors are lively and well coordinated. I love the addition of unusual elements such as the maps and board game as well as Vatteluthu. I do believe the collection will have a great success.
YAY! thank you. I really looked deep at my inspiration for colours and patterns. Vatteluthu is a script of Tamil language that was in use just before 9th century AD. I hope to write a post on it soon.
