After a dry spell in blogging, I am happy to get back to writing back to back posts. I hope that you are enjoying reading them, as much as I enjoy writing them. In my last post, I wrote about the creative spark issued by Ms. Erin of Earrings Everyday. She introduced her readers to anew design process. It is one where you use a name(words) as inspiration for your Pieces. As Instructed, I used the Random Fantasy name generator and discovered a whole bunch of interesting names. I made some neck pieces based on names such as the Emerald Hymn, Sapphire spear, Indigo Twilight, and ruby steel. As a continuation, in this post, I would like to show some Fabric Earrings For the November We’re all Ears Challenge reveal.
Fabric Earrings Everyday – Challenge reveal
The might of Pink
I was directing a fashion editorial shoot for my students for which I created two pairs of earrings in Pink. The first, seen here, is a pair of pink elephants earrings. They are long, lightweight studs with embossed brass disc danglers. The earrings are 3-3.5 inches long. I’ll show the second one once the photos are edited. The might of pink earrings are for sale.
Golden Dusk
I have just started to watch Younger Season 5 and fell in love with the Balmain – multicolour stripe on black dress that Liza wears in Episode 5. On a side note, If you are a necklace connoisseur, you must watch Younger atleast to look at the necklaces that Mirian Shor as Diana Trout wears. It struck me that I have a similar non-shimmery, woven fabric. Anyway, I found the fabric but it did not make sense for me to use the fabric in straight grain. I used it in bias (45 degrees) to create some drama along with glass beads and golden dolki beads.
This pair was lonely and screamed for a matching necklace. Since the stripes are graphic and the beads are statement making by themselves, I decided to extend the same combination of colour and material to the necklace as well.Golden dusk necklace earrings set. I made the necklace slightly asymmetric to make it more fun. The Golden dusk set is available for sale.
Teal Bloom 2
I showcased the Teal bloom 1 in my Sustainable jewellery post. Teal Bloom 2 is a variation of the same earrings, where the fabric is used upside-down. This one has a necklace as well. I really loved Teal bloom that I made this pair for myself. It is not for sale.
I hope you enjoyed looking at Fabric earrings in this reveal. I made a couple of more refashion based earrings as well for which I am creating tutorials. Be back next week, to learn how to make Lapis Lazuli and copper earrings. Until, then tell me what are the names that you found fascinating when using the generator.
