Four things to consider before buying nosepins

nosepins

One category of ornament that I rarely write about is nosepins. Why? Getting pierced for nose ornaments can often be a very tricky job. Some love the end results, some end up detesting the look all the more. While you can wear press nosepins without getting your nose pierced, piercing is the way to go if you want to wear gold, platinum, diamonds or any precious stone on your nose. If you have been planning on getting a nose piercing done, it is important that you keep certain factors in mind. These might not seem like a lot but it is very important to be safe than sorry. Here are some of the factors one needs to consider when it comes to getting a nose piercing. After all, you want to flaunt your beautiful nose ornaments.

Are you ready to get your nose pierced?

Whether you are getting your nose pierced for cultural reasons or for fashion, you need to be prepared. In order to avoid disappointment, it is better to try out a press pin before to see how you will look while wearing a nosepin. Talk to people who have had their noses pierced. Do your research about the places to get the piercing and the aftercare that is required. In India, a lot of jewellers offer piercing services for a small fee. They will use a needle or a piercing gun depending on your preference. If you feel confident in your decision, then just go for it without any further thoughts.

Location of the piercing

Now, it is important that you know the exact location where the piercing will go. Do you want the piercing on one or both nostrils, nasallang, the septum, the nasal bridge, or the tip of the nose?  Instead of rushing through with the process, take the time needed. Given the fact that the nostril tends to have more cartilage in comparison to the ear, it does take up more expertise to get it pierced through. Make sure you get it done only by a professional.

Category and Material

Choosing a good type of nose ring can be a tough nut to crack. Not only do you need to get one which suits your face, but you also need one which is one good quality as well. Nose rings should always be Hypo-allergenic. The best metals are Platinum,Titanium, Gold, Niobium, or Palladium. Of these gold is easily available from extravagant styles to  something small and minimalistic. Rose gold is definitely a good option to look into as well. Newbies can avoid getting nose screws. Instead, try and opt for the nose rings because they are lightweight, chic, and fashionable too.

Types of nosepins

Here are some nosepins that will suit different face shapes and sizes. When it comes to nosepins, It is quite important to try out different options before you settle on one.

Captive bead rings

The captive bead rings are possibly the most common and one of the best options that you can opt for. They are the ones which come with a metal ring with one bead in the middle of the ring. It is called a captive ring as it is made up of a ring of metal which holds on ring captive in the middle. These nose rings do come along with their share of advantages and disadvantages. The main advantage of being the fact that it is quite secure and won’t fall off. The only disadvantage is the fact that it is quite hard to remove it on your own. you can find exquisite options of nose tings in Melorra.

Seamless nose rings

Seamless nose rings are made of a smooth piece of metal which goes all the way around the ring and then overlaps and fits into the ring. It looks elegant and chic as it looks seamless on the nose. However, these can’t be worn just after your piercing. You need to wait for it to heal before you can wear the same.

Curved barbells

Last but not least on the list is the curved barbells. These feature either a straight or sometimes even a curved barbell with two balls on either end. It often appears like a captive bead ring, the only difference being the fact that it doesn’t complete a full circle. The Indian name for a circular barbell is Nath.

I hope that this starter post on nosepins would have given you something to think about with regard to nose ornaments. While I personally will not get my nose pierced, it is interesting to note how wearing a nosepin changes a person’s look completely.

I hope you found it interesting
Cheers

I’m sure many people will find this very useful 🙂 I had too many problems with piercing my ears (twice) – slow healing and subsequent inflammation, etc., or I would’ve tried more options for wearing earrings.

Oh, that sounds bad. I remember my mom telling me that they had to pierce one of my ears twice due to some issue. Thankfully, I was an infant so I don’t remember it.
