Method

Steps 1- 7 Mixing the resin clay to make the component. Refer to part one of this post

8-9) Paint the sprig in Coral color. Since I did not have fabric/acrylic colors I used poster colors so I had to give around 4 coats for a nice opaque look. Let Dry. I used red Orange color for I wanted mine component to be in the “Traditional Coral color”. You could also distress the component with white/off white color if you prefer that.

 10) Arrange the pieces on a plastic surface and Apply Diamond glaze liberally on the sprigs. Owing to structure and shape of the sprig, you might have to coat one area, let it dry completely and then do another. I had to apply
2 coats of DG all over for a good finish and it took me 8 hours 🙁

11)When I started coating I dint have the patience so I tried to turn over once the pieces were half dry. They got  struck to the surface and it was a mess. I had to sand it a little before proceeding with the next coat. So please have patience while it dries

Make the Pendant/Necklace:

12) Wrap wire on the neck of the long sprig and wind it twice using pliers
13) Add any clasp of your choice to a length of silver (I used double length of chain or a 2 strand effect)
14) Open a  jump ring, insert it into the hole of the sprig and connect it to the chain. Close

 Make the earrings

15) Cut a strip of 30g silver wire and wrap it around the neck of the earring sprigs just to add a metallic element
16) Insert an eyepin in the hole, bend 90 degree and then again, so that you get a “U” shape.
17) Use your round nose or looping pliers to make a loop equivalent to the one on the opposite side
 18) Slip in near hooks – repeat process 12- 17 to make the next earring

Your Faux coral sprig necklace & earrings are ready to wear and enjoy this Christmas. You can use the  techniques illustrated in this tutorial to make any jewelry bead or component using your imagination.
I hope you found it interesting
Cheers
