Metal Bangles from Sayuri

Its been really really long since I made bangles. I used to make a lot of those in 2008-09 and somehow they just went off the grid. I have now decided to renew that trend with these beauties. The theme for these Metal Bangles is strictly Indian – lots of color, bling and use of local textiles…come on lets take a look
Metal Bangles
The first two Metal Bangles are made of brass sheet and hence have substantial weight. The first one is a golden brass decorated with ridges, enamelling and stone work.
The second one has a trim of  mirror work embroidery on it. Though the stitch looks Phulkari, the colors and the bold pattern were inspired the banjara tribal embroidery
This is a regular plain cuff which I have transformed with some embossing, Woven border fabric and crystal chain. As you can see all the pieces have been finished well and wont come off. That I reckon is a necessary trait for bangles and bracelets for they see the lot of movement.

And finally grunge Metal Bangles with flowers of different colors and sizes. The distressed brown color in matt finish was quite difficult to achieve but I pulled it off after a lot of experimenting.

So what do you think of these bangles? Do tell me in the comments

I hope you find it interesting

Cheers
