Beading daily? Interweave? Beadwork? these words would definitely ring a bell is you are a beader, jewelry maker or even just a craft enthusiast. For years, many people have learnt how to bead and make jewelry by reading their amazing magazines, comprehensive issues, CDS, and ebooks. Then there are also many people like me, who learn by reading newsletters, free ebooks and watching youtube videos and gape at the wonderful designs shown on their promo contents pages of magazines and attempt making them as we cant really afford to buy the issues.
So right now, it feels really great, Why so? Read below
On July 16th Interweave launched the brand new “101 Bracelets, Necklaces and earrings” comprising of super cool jewelry in 16 fantastic color palettes. Have you all got it? If you havent yet, you should…apart from having 100 great projects..it has one fabulous necklace project by me. Yup thats right!! Moi in an Interweave Magazine.
Now you can see why, it called as the Ultimate Jewelry Issue 😉
My Necklace “Diwali necklace”(originally Pomegranate pearls necklace) features in the Poppy reds section (Pg 29-31) and my headshot and bio on pg 137 (contributors)
Its an amazing experience to coordinate with the team and write a tutorial that features in a international magazine of repute. Apart from my piece, which I absolutely love (forgive my narcissism) I really love toffee drop earrings, truffle earrings and chocolate bracelet in chocolate brown, lavender fields necklace, Mardi gras necklace, bird wing earrings and finally the blooming trellis bracelet, which I thought had fantastic technique
Divided into 16 color palettes, the book has pretty easy to make jewelry pieces which can be done by a beginner in minutes. It has also got some good grub for the intermediate and advanced designers . I feel that beginners would find their resource section very useful. The instructions are crisp but if English is not your first language, you might find it necessary to go through them a few times, particularly the more complicated ones, before you fully understand them.
I found the book to be international in appeal, so whether you are an American, European or Asian, you will find something that works for you. I only wish that they hadn’t displayed the jewelry in backgrounds of the same color (and gone with white or neutral) as that somehow stops you from giving your full attention to the piece
I hope you find it interesting
Cheers
