Statement Scrabble tile Earrings

There is nothing new about Scrabble tile jewelry, but then its always a hit. Whether you are using the tile blanks to make decoupaged jewelry or trying to make a statement using the letters, it fun and fabulous. I did do Scrabble tile jewelry before – my famous Kolaveri necklace tutorial (something that got pinned a lot from my blog) and my king of cards bracelet from the chithiram collection, but its a little different this time.
I wanted to make something that speaks out, is bold yet chic. Something That I would personally wear – even to work. So I made these pretty scrabble tile earrings for sale – using 2 lettered words, that meant something. Nothing original about the idea, I accept, but each of these have a story.
This first one, US is very special – I was thinking of my best friend getting married and all the times we had spent together, how we used to perfectly balance each other and how he had always been there for me and how much I miss him. so this one is for us!!
NO is what triggered off this series. Call it my form of protest or my way of thinking and talking about crimes against women. With crimes in Indian cities rising day by day, WE have to take a stand and learn to say NO. we must understand that the ones that come out in the spotlight represent only a small percentage of what really happens in our houses, offices, towns and cities, so if we dont start with cleaning up our own families and neighborhoods, there is not much that we can expect from the country.
No poignant story here really, but every relationship, meeting or even a phone call begins with a Hi. Its universal, not gender or age bound, almost always appropriate
We all collect inspiration, tons of pictures on pinterest, write resolutions and vow to do something when others chide or tease or provoke us. But then in the humdrum of life, we just forget it. So this one is a reminder – of things that need to be done. I want my resolution to be just this – DO!!
With that note, I am signing off..I hope you found it interesting..BTW one of my blog oriented resolutions, this year is to take more interesting pictures and this series is a step forward in that. Instead of using plain sheets or textured backgrounds like I usually do, I have used the branches of a dried Tulsi (holy Basil) plant that my mom lovingly preserves. I love the “winter wonderlandish feeling” that it gives, something extremely rare in chennai 😉 It also makes the earrings look fab and sophisticated. so do you like it? And dont forget to tell me which one of these earrings is your favourite??BTW the US & WE earrings would make a fabulous gift for Valentines day or Friendship day, dont you think?
Cheers
