I have always loved antique stuff. Its a memorabilia from the past that narrates so many stories with its form, shape, material, color and texture. Stories of the people who used it and hands it passed through. The good bad and the ugly times it saw. Forms from this period are classic enabling itself to be reinvented in some form we deem fit.
Inspired by this period I have done a couple of wire work pendants that can multitask as pins, as brooches and as focal pieces. The colors are royal and the findings are in antique finish. A scatterbrain as I am I have already moved to the vintage period for my inspiration. Hoping to get back with those ones.
The green pendant piece of Jewelry I made for the transition – fall winter 2010 collection. Incidently Green is one of the biggest color stories for Fall transition palettes 2010 (according to Anne Rush) and green stones embedded in antique gold wire is the hottest now. I didn’t know this is before..but I guess that my instinct is still going strong. 🙂
So many people complain That I don’t make jewelry regularly. so this is for all of them…from now on will try and find time to do more pieces – new and exciting ones.
Cheers
